Photographing Paintings for Artists

I’ve shot for a fair few artists over the years, and have had to quote for each individually.  I am now shooting straight into the computer so as to be able to check results onscreen as shot, and if necessary correct colour individually while the painting is still available to view.  This sophisticated technique is not cheap and setting up for one painting is as costly as for 4 or 44.

While I am very happy to continue to give an entirely bespoke service according to need, I also want to be more open about charging and simplify the process.  I am therefore adding a simplified and standardised  service (for shooting in my studio) and  structure of costing for artists which will be of benefit for those more prolific in their output, and with an option for those with one or two paintings only – often not worth it on their own.

 New charge structure :

 1-4 paintings                £100

 5-10                             add 20 each

10 or more                  add £13 each

So one painting will be charged at £100 as will 4 paintings.  Five paintings will cost £120 and 11 will be £233.  All prices need VAT added at the prevailing rate, 17.5% from January 1st, 2010.

‘Drop In’ days for single paintings

For those with low output or ‘just needing one done for now’, I will run ‘Drop In’ days on the 3rd Monday of every month provided there are enough takers.  You will need to phone to book a slot (07771 542220), but if you have one painting, then the rate for that day will be £25 (instead of £100) as I would hope to shoot for more than one artist on the day and will only have to set up once.  This will in fact be delayed until January 19th as I have a clash and will continue Feb 15th, March 15th,  and so on.

Winter Warmer

To produce even more of that warm feeling and ease the VAT transition, I’m offering a 10% discount for January and February.
